A hotheaded young soldier who has been handpicked by Chairman Durandal to pilot the Impulse Gundam. Shinn was once a citizen of Orb, but after losing his family during the previous war he emigrated to the PLANTs and enlisted in ZAFT. His record at military academy has earned him the right to wear the elite uniform of a ZAFT Red, and as Shinn experiences actual combat his fighting abilities continue to grow. He harbors a deep hatred for the Earth Alliance, and for the Orb Union which allowed his family to be sacrificed for the sake of its precious ideals.
